Helping the community has always been at the heart of Wood Wise Design & Remodeling. This season we have made donations to Neighbor2Neighbor, WakeUpWakeCounty, YMCA, Yestermorrow School, Urban Ministries, and more. Along with this, Wood Wise president Hank Wall has volunteered his time again this year with the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign. Hank’s observation while ringing the bell: those who appear to have the least seem the most eager to give.

Donning his Santa hat for the Salvation Army, Hank Wall’s warm smile encourages us to give generously. -
Kathy, Wood Wise’s designer, helped this homeowner with selections that give her new kitchen great style.
Choosing River White granite over marble offers durability and beauty.
The graceful curves of the Palladia style glass cabinet doors by Kraftmaid add elegance.
The mother of pearl backsplash above the stove with white ceramic subway tile provides the “wow” factor.

“We show our dogs in competitions,” the homeowner explains. “I didn’t want to continue to bathe them in the same tub that my kids bathe in. For one thing, leaning over the low tub was hard on my back. And, I wanted a place for pictures of important dogs I’ve had, ribbons and training paraphernalia as well as the old towels and grooming supplies.”
So in a remodeling project that also included a pub-style kitchen, guest suite, screened-in porch and another shower for the two-legged members of the family, Wood Wise included this bathing area exclusively for the homeowner’s dogs. Most commercial dog grooming tubs are stainless steel laundry sinks with a large stainless steel backsplash but the homeowner did not want that. So, she chose Wedgewood blue cabinetry, bisque subway tile for the back splash and a small white porcelain tub.

This tub for washing dogs was raised to almost counter level to make it easier on the homeowner’s back. -
This master bath remodeling project involved removing the garden tub and adding a doorless walk-in shower featuring a pebble river rock floor and a rain shower head. The KraftMaid vanity with granite countertop and teak accessories completes this refreshing update.

Read what the clients on the kitchen project below had to say about their remodeling experience with Wood Wise:
“We chose Wood Wise for our kitchen remodel based on their very professional and complete, detailed proposal. The designer, Kathy Walker, was very easy to work with as she guided me through the many decisions that were necessary. The project manager, Ben Toney, was on site much of the time, coordinated all of the subs, kept us informed every day and always responded to calls. The final result is beautiful and we would recommend Wood Wise without reservation.”
