Freshening Up
The homeowners of this inside-the-beltline house were in need of a new look and more space. They turned to Wood Wise to design and build an addition along with some much needed sprucing up of the exterior. The new side porch-turned-sunroom features a window seat just right for enjoying the morning sun and has become the most used room in the home. The exterior of the home has been given a facelift by increasing the size of the dormers, adding new siding, and redesigning the window surrounds to accomodate longer shutters. Updating the front entrance with a new porch design and curved stone walk gives the homeowners what they were looking for: a fresh and appealing new look.

Living the Dream
This Raleigh homeowner had been planning her dream kitchen for years. With a folder full of favorite styles and selections, she called Wood Wise for help to design and fulfill that vision. Designer Kathy Walker worked with the homeowner to make her dream kitchen even “dreamier,” by adding 2 extra-large islands, coming up with a fabulous cabinet layout, and guiding her to some selections that helped make the results over-the-top beautiful.

Stepping Out
This Raleigh couple had a beautiful back yard but no good way to enjoy it. Their old deck was tired looking and not very appealing besides being too hot in warm weather. They turned to Wood Wise to design an outdoor living area that has it all: a screen porch, an open deck, and a covered porch. Now they can relax on this beautifully integrated area whatever the weather. Enjoying a cup of coffee in the rockers on the covered porch is a perfect way to start the day.

From Start to Finish
When homeowners choose Wood Wise to remodel their home, they become part of our circle of friends. From the first meeting to the design phase through project construction, we work hard to give excellence in every area. Check out comments from a current client whose beautiful project is almost completed:
“We are very pleased with the way the house design and work are turning out. It really looks great! We are anxious for completion, but we know how important it is to complete the final work with care. We also appreciate your taking in stride the requests and changes we have made along the way. I have meant to tell you how much our neighbors appreciated the letter you sent before the work started preparing them for potential disruption. That made a very positive impression on many people and they have commented that back to us.”

Sink Options
When choosing a sink for your new bathroom, here are some of the styles to consider:
Undermount sinks are installed from underneath a solid surface countertop such as granite or marble. They give a clean uninterrupted look to the vanity. Cleaning the countertop and sink is made easy with no edges to trap dirt.
Pedestal sinks are freestanding sinks that are supported by a small column that sits beneath the sink. These types of sinks are not set in a vanity. A pedestal sink is an excellent way to offer more space in small bathrooms, that don’t require storage space.
Vessel sinks sit atop the vanity counter so that the bottom of the sink is in line with the countertop. They can make a great style statement and set the tone for the whole bathroom.
In addition to the different styles of sinks to consider, there are also different materials to choose from, such as porcelain, glass, china, and more, along with choosing faucets to complement the sink. Our designer, Kathy Walker, walks beside our homeowners and guides them to good choices while staying within their budget. She makes these complicated decisions seem easy with her experience and great design ability. Here are some sinks from recent Wood Wise projects:

Store It
More storage is always on the wish list for any homeowner seeking to improve their home. Good cabinetry provides storage that is attractive and efficient with space. Wood Wise carries two lines of cabinets, KraftMaid and Waypoint. Both lines offer multiple cabinet door styles, beautiful finishes, and great features such as soft-closed drawers and doors. Here are three storage options Wood Wise homeowners chose to enhance their homes. From more storage in the kitchen, mudroom, or a media center in the family room, Wood Wise can provide the answer that works best for you.

Making A Splash
Choosing a great backsplash can make the difference in a kitchen or bathroom. Wood Wise works with Byrd Tile as our supplier of all kinds of beautiful tile, from the ever-popular subway tile to glass, porcelain, stone, and more. Raul of Geovany Tile is the craftsman who installs our tile with precision and artistry. Kathy, our designer, guides homeowners in their choices of backsplash tile to beautifully coordinate with countertops and cabinets. She also comes up with unique ways to make great design statements with interesting patterns of laying the tile. The results always exceed the homeowners’ expectations for a beautifully remodeled home.

Details Make the Difference
As part of a larger renovation, these Raleigh homeowners wanted to improve their staircase. The original stair parts were of poor quality and workmanship. Wood Wise designed and built the new stair case which includes high quality parts and excellent craftsmanship. The improved look is now in keeping with the rest of their great looking Wood Wise renovation.
