  • What is Smart Design?

The Design Phase is Step 2 of the Wood Wise 4 step remodeling process. Smart design begins with a careful measure and listening to homeowners’ goals. The Wood Wise professionals have the remodeling experience and vision to guide homeowners to a successful renovations.

  • Split-level Magic

This 1970 split level had the space but it was divided into small rooms. Wood Wise designed and remodeled the living room, dining room, and kitchen as one open area. Walls were removed and new hardwoods installed. The gorgeous new kitchen features a large island with room for food prep and seating. Take a look at what opening up and expanding the kitchen into the existing dining room did for this house!

  • Walls Down, Better Living Up

Opening up living spaces is always a favorite and smart way for homeowners to improve their homes. This North Raleigh home went from three small closed off areas (living room, dining room, and kitchen) to one large space that is perfect for groups or family interacting with the cook. Walls were removed, new hardwood flooring installed, and lots of good lighting added (both recessed and decorative fixtures). A large tiered island keeps messy food prep out of sight while providing additional bar seating. Opening up turned this dated 1970s house into a fresh new home ready for today’s lifestyles.
