All four of our entries into the 2014 STAR Awards were chosen as “Best” in their class!! The STAR Awards, sponsored by the Remodelers Council of Wake county, are presented based on great design, attention to detail, and great construction, along with the homeowners’ level of satisfaction. A group of visiting judges go to each entry home to determine the winners. We want to thank our homeowners for allowing us to design and build such award-worthy projects. They are the real winners.
A cool backsplash can really make a great design statement in a kitchen. Our designer Kathy guides our clients through the selection process at Byrd Tile to help them make good color and pattern decisions that they will enjoy for a long time. The homeowners’ old deck was unappealing and rarely used. So they turned to Wood Wise to design a beautiful screen porch. With protection from rain and made inviting with a bluestone floor and stone fireplace, the porch has become a place of relaxation for these homeowners. In this recently completed Wood Wise master bathroom project, our designer Kathy Walker worked with the homeowner to design this stunning backdrop to the new slipper tub. The porcelain crema marfil-look tile surrounds the wide glass mosaic stripe, all from Byrd Tile. Imagine relaxing with a good book in this gorgeous setting!
These homeowners had a private backyard with no good way to enjoy it. They turned to Wood Wise who incorporated three areas into the well-designed plan. The screen porch provides great summertime enjoyment with protection from insects and rain. The deck gives plenty of sunlight so appreciated in cooler seasons and large enough for group entertaining. The intimate covered porch with two rockers is the perfect place to enjoy the morning with a cup of coffee.
Summertime and swim team just go together! Crabtree Swim & Tennis Club provides great recreational opportunities for families to have fun, make lasting friendships, and gather as a community. Kathy is experienced in coming up with design solutions for clients and helps them with selections throughout the building process. Here is a recently completed master bath shower with selections that Kathy helped coordinate. The textured shower floor is made of penny-round tiles. The shower walls are porcelain crema marfil-look tile with a sleek racing stripe of glass mosaic tiles. With good lighting and polished nickel fixtures, this shower is a beautiful place to wash away the cares of the day.

When these homeowners chose Wood Wise to help them with a major master bath renovation and screen porch addition, they also decided to update their kitchen. Although the existing wall cabinets were fine, the rest of the appointments just didn’t reflect the owner’s style. New countertops, a beautiful backsplash with an artistic mosaic over the cooktop, and a larger window instantly lightened the kitchen. A new KraftMaid island with attached eating area makes the room feel larger and more appealing.
