Thanks to Christie Smith for her beautiful photo taken in Boone, NC.
When we finish a remodeling project, our homeowners are asked to take a survey about their experience with Wood Wise. Here is one recent comment we received from a homeowner who just finished her second Wood Wise remodeling project:
“Kathy (Wood Wise’s designer) used her experience and talent to point out key things during the selection process that I would have missed, like making sure templates were laid in the best possible place on the granite slabs to take advantage of attractive lines or to avoid “ugly spots.” Ben (Wood Wise’s project manager) paid particular attention to my comments and always quickly resolved concerns (like getting crown molding to match my existing moldings) or explained things I didn’t understand. And Greg (Wood Wise’s head carpenter) did a beautiful job with details as always like my chair rail! My thanks to all of them!”
In keeping with the contemporary look of this recent whole house remodel, Wood Wise designed and built these great looking stair rails. The powder-coated steel cables look sleek and keep the view open. The oak posts and handrail add warmth and seem to flow from the wood floors.

Check out this dream kitchen, ready for holiday entertaining. Wood Wise recently completed this whole house renovation, taking out walls and making better use of the existing space. Now the kitchen is open to the living area, making traffic flow better and filling the area with light. Clean lines and updated finishes add to the gorgeous transformation.
Hank spent time at this pristine lake last June when it was perfect for swimming and kayaking. Where exactly in New England is this view? Identify this place and you will win “the prize!” Email us at: [email protected].
Chilly temperatures made for a perfect soup night at Urban Ministries of Wake County’s Stone Soup. Delicious soups were offered by area chefs for sampling and taking home. The handmade pottery was beautiful and many local citizens in need were helped in the process. Here is Hank awaiting his sample of this chef’s soup (what number bowl was that, Hank?!). He and wife Beth enjoyed the evening seeing old friends and making new ones.
Wood Wise is happy to be a supporter of Urban Ministries of Wake County through their annual Stone Soup. On Wednesday, November 19th from 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at White Memorial Presbyterian Church, area chefs will prepare delicious soups for you to purchase and pottery will be for sale. All proceeds go to Urban Ministries for the many services they provide for our local citizens in need. Do something to warm your body, have fun, and help someone less fortunate: make plans to go tonight. We hope to see you there! For more info, go to:
Homeowners remodel their homes for various reasons: to build an addition, make better use of existing space, make rooms beautiful, and more. The design-build process Wood Wise uses allows us to listen closely to what homeowners are wanting to achieve and provide solutions. These homeowners had an unfinished basement they wanted to finish and utilize in several ways. Along with a kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms, they wanted a place with a tub and storage to devote completely to grooming their show dogs. Our designers raised the tub for back comfort and provided lots of cabinets for convenient storage. The dogs are happy and the homeowners are happy. That makes us happy, too.
