  • Achieving The Dream

“A fresh new look that’s warm and inviting!” was the request of these homeowners when they asked Wood Wise to design and remodel their Raleigh kitchen. Our designer Kathy Walker arranged the kitchen and walked with the homeowners through the selection process. They chose KraftMaid maple cabinets with lots of great storage and matching range hood. Their granite is a show-stopper with the unique color and swirls. The backsplash compliments the rich tones of the wood. This kitchen meets all the homeowners’ goals: a fresh new look that’s warm and inviting.

  • Combining Beauty and Function

Wood Wise excels in good design and construction of our remodeling projects. Our goal is to give our homeowners beautiful and functional spaces built with the highest standards. Here is what the homeowner enjoying this beautiful kitchen has to say about Wood Wise:

“I have to say that it is one thing to design/build a beautiful kitchen, but the true testament to Wood Wise Design & Remodeling’s projects is how functional they are. Our kitchen remodel has made preparing meals SO easy and it is such a pleasure to have the cabinets and drawers designed in such a way that everything is at your fingertips. We have been enjoying our kitchen renovation for 6 months now, and I can honestly say that Wood Wise not only does a beautiful design, but the end result will be fully functional and practical as well. Thanks Kathy and Hank!”

  • We won!

At last night’s STAR awards, all of Wood Wise’s entries won the highest award in their categories! The four projects were rated best porch, best bathroom, best kitchen, and best whole house renovation. The STAR awards are conducted annually by the Remodelers’ Council of Home Builders Association of Wake County to recognize the best of the best remodeling projects. WW owner Hank Wall was asked to speak in honor of the 20th anniversary of the STAR awards. He and fellow remodeler Eddie Casanave entertained the crowd with fun memories of the humble beginnings of the awards all the way to the fancy celebration last night at Brier Creek Country Club.

Enjoy some of the photos from last night. A special thanks goes to our great homeowners who trust us to improve their homes. We continue to celebrate!

Most of the great photos you see on our website have been taken by Stuart Jones. Stuart is equipped with a great eye and a great camera, both essential for taking winning photographs. He loves to find the angle that best shows the good design and good products used in Wood Wise remodeling projects. Stuart’s friendly disposition and great smile help to make the photo shoot enjoyable for the homeowner and WW staff. Here is a photo of Stuart doing what it takes to get the right shot.

  • Talented Teamwork

Hank Wall and designer Kathy Walker have worked together at Wood Wise for nine years. After designing hundreds of kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor living spaces, living rooms, family rooms, laundry rooms, and much more, they have fine-tuned their design process and work well together. They both have a great sense of style and knowledge of the best materials along with having a fresh eye for a home’s potential. For each client, Kathy creates an as-built floor plan and both she and Hank work together to develop two to three design options. They make the client’s journey to a final plan with its many decisions a pleasant experience. Then they follow it all the way through to the completion of the construction. Give them a call today to set up your free in-home consultation. Let Hank and Kathy help you see your home in a beautiful new way.

  • Easy Outdoor Living

This patio was a catchall for sports equipment, falling leaves and sticks.  It was rarely used by the homeowners, being too hot or too cold or too many bugs. They called Wood Wise to design and build this beautiful screened-in porch to make their outdoor living easy. With the stone fireplace and large screen TV, family and guests enjoy the comfortable space year round. The tongue-in-groove ceiling, recessed lighting, and stone floor enhance the beauty and make the upkeep easy. The attention to details bumps this outdoor living space up to fabulous.

  • Improving the Remodeling Process

Years ago, the typical steps to remodeling involved homeowners engaging an outside architect or home designer to help them develop the plan for their project. They would then take it to several remodelers to price out and from there, choosing one to do the construction. Often the estimate for the designed work was much higher than the homeowners wanted and resulted in Wood Wise working with the homeowner to redesign the original to bring it more in line with their budget. Hank realized early on that this model did not serve the homeowner well. He decided to bring the design phase in to Wood Wise to make the remodeling experience smoother and easier for the homeowner. The design-build process has transformed remodeling from being a series of complicated and confusing steps to a simplified stress-free experience.
