This Raleigh master bathroom received a dramatic new layout that includes this floor-to-ceiling pantry cabinet. It is conveniently placed near the shower for ready access to towels, toiletries, and clothes. With roll-out shelves, these pantries provide lots of easy to reach storage and take up less space than a traditional linen closet. Wood Wise is a dealer for KraftMaid and Waypoint cabinets. Both lines offer plenty of options to fit any storage need or space requirement.

    Deferred Gratification

Sometimes it is years before homeowners get to enjoy their dream kitchen. That was the case for these homeowners. After a long time of making do with what the previous owners had put together, this couple was ready to get started on improving their home. They chose Wood Wise to reimagine and remodel their kitchen. By borrowing space from an adjoining room, the kitchen went from small to spacious. New cabinets with increased storage, improved lighting, and a redesigned traffic flow make this kitchen the homeowners’ dream come true.

  • Leadership in the Community

    Leadership in the Community

While Wood Wise president and founder Hank Wall has created a leading company in the Raleigh remodeling industry, he has also enjoyed a full life that includes giving back to the community. He is active in his church and in his neighborhood HOA, serving as president of the boards of each in recent years. Under his leadership, the neighborhood HOA took on the massive project of restoring and improving their Lake Anne. Hank spent hours working with the proper agencies and trades to complete the major renovations, tackling whatever obstacles came along with his enthusiasm, energy, and know-how. The lake is now structurally sound, clean, and beautiful for all the residents of the subdivision to enjoy. In appreciation of his contributions of so much time and energy, the neighborhood residents have placed this plaque on the bridge wall.

  • Design Dilemma

    Design Dilemma

A beautiful wood ceiling was original to this contemporary Raleigh home when Wood Wise was called in to do a whole house renovation. The homeowners asked that the ceiling be preserved with no alterations. But that brought a challenge: how do you create more light without putting holes in the ceiling? The winning answer was to create a soffit to hold both up and down lights. Special wire cables hold it firmly in place and add to the contemporary look. Now the large open space has great lighting on cloudy days and at night. The ceiling was preserved and the goal of more light was met.

What kind of challenges does your home present for improvement?  Call Wood Wise and let us show you creative solutions to your design dilemmas.

  • Crafting the Perfect Addition

    Crafting the Perfect Addition

Building a good addition to an existing house is challenging. The goal is to give the appearance that the addition has always been there. Just some of the many considerations for building an addition are tying into the existing roofline, window type and placement, addressing proper drainage, matching siding/finishes, setbacks, and meeting impervious surface regulations.

Wood Wise has been designing and building additions for many years. We have the professional experience, design eye, and craftsmen to design and construct an addition that will be a beautiful part of your home. Here is an example of a master suite/family room addition that Wood Wise designed and built on a home inside the beltline. The original addition was poorly constructed and was removed to make room for the new larger addition. Large windows and the new metal roof contribute to the seamless look.

  • Creative Expression

    Creative Expression

Crafts are the passion of this homeowner. However, the room being used for this hobby (the former dining room) was not set up to handle all the supplies, books, and projects. As part of a larger renovation, Wood Wise made big improvements to the craft room by closing off a rarely-used door and building floor-to-ceiling custom wood shelves. With new hardwood floors, better lighting, and fresh paint on both trim and walls, this refreshed room is the perfect place for this homeowner to be creative.

  • Welcome the New

    Welcome the New

The old kitchen had served this family well but it was definitely time for a makeover. Wood Wise designer Kathy Walker worked with the homeowners to improve the kitchen arrangement for better efficiency. She accompanied them to area showrooms to give experienced advice through the selection process. Project manager Ben Toney brought it to life through top-notch coordination of the area’s best sub-contractors and handling all details to get it done right. The result is a beautiful well-organized kitchen the homeowners will enjoy for a long time.
