Wood Wise Project Managers
Ben Toney, Project Manager
Ben manages projects and does meticulous carpentry. In 2004 Ben managed seven Wood Wise projects AND built his own new home (in his spare hours). He is exceptionally efficient and capable in all aspects of home remodeling. He has been a cabinet maker, a new house superintendent, a trim carpenter, a facility manager, and a Project Manager. He plays golf pretty well.
Ben does not get ruffled. Remodeling is challenging work, but Ben is smiling throughout. His projects go smoothly and even the inspectors compliment his work.
David Clark, Project Manager
David was an Eagle Scout. You suspect that sort of exceptional background once you meet him. He has built numerous new homes and done every aspect of remodeling. He juggles multiple projects, coaches kids sports teams, and keeps Wood Wise clients happy from start to finish.
David has an architecture degree from the University of Virginia and was the student publisher for the architecture magazine, The Virginia Studio Record. He has built post and beam houses in the Triangle, and he manages Wood Wise projects with amazing skill.
Steve Zulkosky, Project Manager
Steve left home after college at the University of Pennsylvania to volunteer for Habitat in rural Georgia. He saw poverty. He saw opportunity. He stayed for almost two years building homes. He met Emily in Georgia. They moved to Raleigh to start the Deconstruction Program at Habitat. They now live in Pittsboro, where they are usually found remodeling their home, with short breaks for hiking and kayaking.
Justin Bell, Project Coordinator
When Justin started doing the estimating at Wood Wise he saw the inefficiencies in our method, so he developed a new custom estimating program for the company. We adopted his new system and havent looked back. He has a knack for learning and improving. In addition to estimating, Justin does all types of carpentry for Wood Wise. It is not typical for someone to be equally skilled in the office and the field, but Justin is not typical.
After graduating from the Building Technology Department at Appalachian State with a business minor, he set a financial goal for saving money. To achieve his goal he lived rent-free for a year, worked two jobs, and didnt spend money. Did I mention that he lived in his van during this period? For entertainment, he read the classics he got from the library.
Now Justin is settled into a new house and new marriage. He is learning and teaching at Wood Wise, on the computer and at the jobsite as needed. His roles are varied and his contribution at all levels is excellent.
